Our Fantastic Week Ahead: August 22

We'd like to start today by offering our our congratulations to all the Hugo and Campbell Award winners!  You can find a complete list of the winners here, but we'd like to single out two winners for special congratulations, as we've recently featured them here on Fantasy Matters.

BlackoutFirst, we'd like to congratulate Connie Willis for her win for Best Novel for Blackout/All Clear!  You can find our review of these novels here.  While our prediction for Best Novel wasn't accurate, we're very excited for Willis and her win.

Second, we'd like to congratulate Lev Grossman on winning the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer!  We recently focused our coverage on Grossman and his new novel, The Magician King--in case you missed it, here's what he has to say about how he went about writing his latest novel.  We are thrilled that Grossman received this honor, and we can't wait to see what he writes next!

Here at Fantasy Matters, we have some excitement for you this week as well.  We'll be introducing a new contributor, Monica Byrne, who will be sharing her thoughts on why fantasy literature is important.  Adam Miller has an update on his reading of Robin Hobb's The Farseer Trilogy.  And we have some more video game content for you, too!

It should be an exciting week--so stop by and see what we're up to!
