Our Fantastic Week Ahead: October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween!  We have two exciting things today at Fantasy Matters to celebrate this spookiest of holidays.  First, you have until 11:59 PM (Pacific Standard Time) tonight to post your favorite scary story here, for a chance to win a signed copy of Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box.

And speaking of Joe Hill, we are thrilled that he will be joining us today to share his thoughts about what scares him!  Joe is an author who can scare in just about any written medium: short stories - 20th Century Ghosts; novels - Heart-Shaped Box and Horns; or comics - Locke & Key with Gabriel Rodriguez.  So if you need a good place to start looking for scary stories, this might be it.

We have some more exciting things going on this week, as well, including Heather Whitney's latest discussion of how literature shapes our values, more of Dan Lammert's thoughts on video games, and a new way for you to get involved with the site!

And we hope that if you are going out trick-or-treating tonight, you get lots of delicious candy!
