Rather, I'm one of those who does her holiday shopping online--and what better time to start than today, Cyber Monday?
Right now, I think the thing that tops my list is the complete set of Harry Potter DVDs. At Amazon, you can get all 8 movies for $50, which seems like a great deal, especially since I only own one of them at this point.
ThinkGeek is one of my favorite catalogs to flip through. It stays on my coffee table for months after I get it, simply because it makes such entertaining reading. They have a whole bunch of Doctor Who products, including sonic screwdrivers, and several collections of propaganda-style posters, including this retro video game set. (They also have these awesome plush sushi toys, which aren't scfi/fantasy related, but still awesome.)
Another one of my favorite sites to just browse through is 6 Dollar Shirts. Not only do they have cheap shirts that are humorously related to current events, but a lot of their shirts are scifi/fantasy related. There's the Monty Python and the Holy Grail shirt, a Back to the Future shirt, and a zombie apocalypse shirt. Oh, and an Oregon Trail shirt, just because it brings back great memories from third grade.
Last week, we featured the artwork of Aunia Kahn--she has many prints available for sale, along with tarot decks and pieces of jewelry, including these great skull cufflinks! (Also, she is having a big sale on her website today, 11/28--head over there and take a look for yourself!)
Etsy is also a great place to look for gifts that are creative, personal, and often, very reasonably priced. Here are some of my favorites:
- Vinyl wall decals, some classic and inspirational, some, um...less so.
- Rings made out of meteorites! (Not to be confused with the virtual version...)
- These hilarious letterpress cards.
- A journal inscribed with one of my all-time favorite quotes.
And don't forget to share your own gift ideas in the comments!
