Fantastically Fun Fridays: November 18, 2011

It was Muppet week over at Tor, which is awesome in and of itself, but I was particularly excited when they featured this video of the Muppets auditioning for the role of Yoda:

Here are some of the other fun things we found for you this week, including another Muppet link:

  • Threadless has a line of Muppet T-shirts.  Just the thing if you're looking to get all your shopping done before Christmas. (Threadless)
  • An interview with Joss Whedon in which he talks about The Avengers and Shakespeare, among other things. (Rookie)
  • There are apparently three Game of Thrones video games in the works. (Blastr)
  • Speaking of video games, Star Wars: The Old Republic announced a major beta test over the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend.  If you're interested in participating, here are details on getting a test code. (SWTOR)
  • We've recently featured the work of David Anthony Durham and N.K. Jemisin--Laura Miller features them in an article over at Salon, talking about how their work pushes portrayals of race in fantasy literature. (Salon)
  • The Antikythera mechanism is considered one of the most technologically advanced artefacts from ancient times.  It's now been reproduced in miniature by Hublot, as well as in LEGO!  (the music in the LEGO video alone makes it worth watching...) (Gizmag/YouTube)
And finally, even though I'm sure you've all watched it at least 5 times already, here's the Hunger Games trailer:

May the odds be ever in your favor.  And have a nice weekend, too!
