Midweek Fiction: Shadow Unit

Regular readers of this column will notice there is no author name in the title this week. That is because Shadow Unit is a collaborative effort, and has been written by authors including Elizabeth Bear, Emma Bull, Holly Black, and Leah Bobet (there are others as well - all good.)

It's one of my favorite things to read.

Shadow Unit is like what might happen if you added a speculative fiction element to Criminal Minds. It's a procedural, but one where the characters are as important as the monster of the week. And the monster of the week is always going to look more like the heros than is comfortable. It's smart, well-written, and there are multiple seasons of episodes. Don't forget to read the DVD extras.
