Fantastically Fun Fridays: February 3, 2012

Happy Friday, everyone!  We hope you have enjoyed our coverage this week of Nick Harkaway's work, and particularly his new novel Angelmaker.  To cap things off, here is the trailer promoting the book's release:

Of course, we have some other fun things for you today as well:

  • Let's start with another trailer--this one for the much-anticipated (by us, certainly, and by others too, we think) second season of HBO's Game of Thrones.  If there's any show out there that will make me pay extra for premium cable channels, this one is it. (YouTube)
  • Princess Bride wine. (Neatorama)
  • I always love a good Firefly link, and this one is particularly shiny: an animated map of the 'verse! (Koen Hendrix)
  • I've mentioned before how much I enjoy travel posters to fictional places (probably because traveling to real places is outside our budget); here are some more to comic book cities. (2046 Design)
  • It's about a decade old now, but it's still funny: Weird Al's "The Saga Begins" (YouTube)
  • Reflections on the 50th anniversary of Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time, including thoughts from Judy Blume. (Omnivoracious)
  • And in the spirit of celebrating the end of the week, dancing comic book characters! (Dancer A Day)
  • And finally, to help us get ready for the Super Bowl on Sunday, one of my favorite Foxtrot cartoons ever. (GoComics)
Make sure you join us again next week as we celebrate the work of several up-and-coming authors, including Saladin Ahmed and Dora Goss.  And in the meantime, have a wonderful weekend!
