Fantastically Fun Fridays: March 2, 2012

Happy Friday everyone!  The award for the coolest thing that I've seen all week comes from, with a game that combines the retro-ness of Super Mario Bros. with the cutting-edge feel of Portal.  Here's a teaser for this game, appropriately titled Mari0:

The website says it's coming soon--I, for one, can't wait!

Here are some of the other fun things that we found for  you this week:

  • For starters, here's a fun video from Fernando Livschitz at Black Sheep Films called "Inception Park"--a place where untethered roller coasters float above the streets of Buenos Aires. (Colossal)
  • The Royal Mail has a line of stamps featuring the work of Roald Dahl.  Yet another reason I wish I lived in the UK. (Royal Mail)
  • Here's a video of the White Stripes' song "Seven Nation Army"--constructed entirely from sounds from a working science lab. (YouTube)
  • A fascinating article about the creators of Doctor Who. (io9)
  • Let's say you can have two things--and only two things--from this list.  Which two would you choose? (Imgur)
  • A poster of the TARDIS, formed entirely out of quotations from the show! (Etsy)
  • Stephen Colbert interviews Maurice Sendak--here's part one and part two.  I don't know about you, but I'd definitely buy Where the Wild Things Are: Still Wildin'! (Colbert Nation)
And on that note, have a happy weekend, everyone!
