Our Fantastic Week Ahead: July 30, 2012

We posted last Friday about possible connections between the Olympics and fantasy and science fiction, and we were very pleased to see that Danny Boyle, Artistic Director of the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics, thinks along similar lines.  Not only did Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, and Voldemort play a role in the spectacle on Friday night, but J.K. Rowling herself made an appearance!

Of course, there is more going on this week than just the Olympics!

Here at Fantasy Matters, we will have reviews of the movie Apollo 18 and G. Willow Wilson's Alif the Unseen, among other things.  And we also will take a look at the preview of what looks to be one of the most exciting movies of the fall!

Also, if you're bored tonight and the Olympics aren't your thing, check out the second episode of this season of Alphas, airing tonight on SyFy at 10/9CST.  Here's a sneak peak:

If you watch it, let us know what you think!
