Fantastically Fun Fridays: August 24, 2012

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's enough to make us want to dance, just like these physicists at CERN:

We also have some news to share with you this Friday.  Starting next week, Fantasy Matters will shift to a three day/week content schedule.  We will continue to bring you many of the features that we do now, including reviews, essays, the fine arts column, and mid-week fiction, but just not quite as frequently.  Articles will be published on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so there will still be plenty of updates and new things to catch your interest!

And in the meantime, here are some fun things to help distract you from work this Friday afternoon:

  • Charles Tan's essay on the future of world science fiction. (World SF)
  • Beautifully illustrated literary quotations, including some by Philip K. Dick and Kurt Vonnegut. (Imgur)
  • Paranorman interview with puppet fabricator Toby Froud. (BBP Creations)
  • The premiere date for season 7 of Doctor Who has been announced (albeit with a bit of confusion). (The Mary Sue)
  • Amazing LOTR LEGO creation--the Rivendell set that we would all buy if we had unlimited bags of money sitting around. (Kotaku)
  • Who is more destructive: Daleks or Reavers?  Vote in this online poll! (Time Wastes Too Fast)

Have a great weekend, everyone!  We'll see you back here on Monday!
