Over the weekend, I stumbled across a short film by a young, independent filmmaker, and I was quite impressed--so impressed that I want to share it with you today.

The film is entitled "R'ha" and was created by German director Kaleb Lechowski.  The work is visually fascinating--you can see the influence of District 9, The Matrix, and Alien in both the overall aesthetic of the film, as well as the appearance of the robot and the alien.  It's also notable in that it's a sci-fi film that is about two alien species, rather than about the human interaction with an alien race.

According to rumor, Lechowski's innovation is being rewarded--he has caught the attention of Hollywood studios.  You can find more from Lechowski on his Tumblr page.
