Fantastically Fun Fridays: March 23, 2012

We're at ICFA!  We're having fun in Florida, listening to panels, attending readings, catching up with old friends, and meeting new people.  We're also having a great time talking about monsters--the theme of this year's conference.

We'll have more about the conference for you next week, but today, in the meantime, in honor of the conference, here's a link to a coloring/activity book by Liam Barrett called How to Make a Monster.  It's great fun for kids and adults alike!

Here are some of the other fun things we found around the Internet for you this week:

  • In other ICFA-related news, Weird Fiction Review has featured a "12 days of monsters" celebration. (Weird Fiction Review)
  • Ten ultra-weird science fiction books that have now become required reading.  Let us know if there are others you think should be added to the list! (io9)
  • More about the "Hobbit" pub in England--Gandalf is now helping out! (BBC)
  • This looks like the coolest orchestra concert ever.  Anyone want to buy me a plane ticket to Australia? (Video Games Unplugged)
  • Artists' re-imaginings of some of Hayao Miyazaki's work. (Buzzfeed)
  • And the award for cutest/most adorable/most heartwarming thing today goes to this father/daughter duo, who are both cosplaying Wonder Woman. (The Mary Sue)
  • And finally, there's a new companion on Doctor Who! (Tor)
Happy Friday everyone!  And we hope you have a fantastic weekend!
