The Great Fantasy Matters Giveaway

One of my projects this summer has been to go through my books and sort them into piles--Books to Keep and Put on Shelves, Books I Need to Read Soon, Books That I Want to Keep But That Need to Go in Boxes, and, inevitably, Books to Give Away.  The Books to Give Away pile consists of several subcategories, including: Books That I've Always Intended To Read But Really Who Am I Kidding, Books That I Used in College and Am Keeping Only Because I Am Compulsive, and Books That I Like So Much That I've Somehow Acquired Two Copies.

I thought it would be fun to give some of these books from the Books to Give Away pile to readers of Fantasy Matters.  So, here's what you need to know:

Starting today and extending throughout the month of August, each week, we will be giving away one book to a randomly selected commenter from that week.  To qualify, comments must be posted on an article published during the week at hand.  Weeks will run from 12:01 AM Monday morning until 11:59 PM Sunday night.  Winners will be able to select their prize from a list of books--it will be first-come, first-served, but there is the possibility/probability that we will be adding more books over the course of the month, and so there is probably a benefit to going later in the month, too.  There will also be two books given away at the end of the month to two randomly selected commenters who haven't won anything yet.

Here are some of the books we're giving away:

Isaac Asimov's Robot Visions
Ursula K. Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness
Sherman Alexie's Flight
Octavia Butler's Kindred
Gene Wolfe's Soldiers of Sidon
Guy Gavriel Kay's The Summer Tree
Michael Flynn's Eifelheim
Lynne Reid Banks' The Indian in the Cupboard
Patrick Rothfuss' The Wise Man's Fear

All of the books are in new or nearly new condition.  If you are selected as the winner during a certain week, we will contact you with a list of books that are still available.  You will have until the following Saturday to let us know which book you want.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to reading your comments!
