Fantastically Fun Fridays: May 18, 2012

I'm pretty sure that anything Alan Rickman does is fantastic--even when it has nothing to do with fantasy or science fiction.  This video clip shows him drinking tea in slow motion, which also calls to mind Megan Kurashige's post last July about slow motion being an example of "the unexpected fantastic."  Regardless, the video's title, "Epic Tea-Time with Alan Rickman," is 100% appropriate--take a look for yourself:

I can tell you that I hope I am never, ever on the end of that death glare.

Here are some of the other fun things we found for you this week:

  • The nine circles of hell, recreated in LEGO. (io9)
  • Photographer Joel Robinson apparently loves books, and uses them as props throughout his work--it's wonderful and whimsical. (My Modern Met)
  • Now here's a protest sign I can get behind! (Imgur)
  • Fiction to Fashion is a fun blog that creates outfits based on fictional characters--Coraline and Sabriel, among others, make appearances. (Fiction to Fashion)
  • Denver nonprofit organization Burning Through Reading, which works to get kids excited about reading, has created these awesome posters!  They, not surprisingly, have gone viral. (Burning Through Pages/Huffington Post)
  • Lovecraft's monsters, as drawn by Edward Gorey. (io9)
That's it for today, folks!  Have a great weekend, and we'll see you back here on Monday!
